I may have started out building jets, and occasionally I still do. But I like my big honkin’ radial-engined airplanes. Because making these engines pop is my favorite part of the build. So, when Enginekitor approached me with their all metal 5 Cylinder working engine, I just had to say YES!
And I am glad I did. This build was as straightforward as they come. All the machined parts fit perfectly. All the bolt holes were drilled and tapped to perfection. There were no snags. Just pure model building goodness.
And sometimes just a simple night of building is exactly what we need. If you’d like to check out the build, just click below:

A Thank You!

I want to thank all those who have read my posts or have looked at my videos. The feedback I have received has been fantastic and I really appreciate it. As a special thank you I am running a small contest where I am giving away official Model Airplane Maker keychains to five winners chosen at random.

To enter the contest, head on over to my YouTube video and leave a comment. That’s it!
Last Thing
As I am writing this post, my working engine rests on the table in my home office. I think it looks great. While I am sure that a working metal engine of something bigger would be cost prohibitive, I really wish there were some larger-scale models of engines like the R-2800. I know there was a large scale kit of a Curtis radial engine that was re-released recently. Maybe I need to take a look at that one again.
